The Front Street Dog Shelter's primary purpose is to provide safe and professional care for stray and lost dogs and puppies.  They are open to the public Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They offer appointments evening and weekends - just call to make arrangements during their business hours.

The Day Hollow Animal Hospital provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.  They also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.  The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, an in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas.

Cornell is one of the nation's premier veterinary training and research universities.  Many of the patients at the Companion Animal Hospital are referred by their veterinarians for evaluation by Cornell faculty specialists for complicated medical or surgical problems.  Specialties include:  behavioral medicine, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, emergency & critical care, intensive care, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, reproductive health, and soft-tissue & orthopedic surgery .

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) promotes the protection of all animals.  Their mission includes wildlife and habitat protection, education, government affairs, and the prevention of cruelty through animal medical research, the fur trade, animal fighting, and factory farming.  Importantly, USHS denounces violence in pursuit of its goals.
